Wordy-Gurdy on the radio: 20 October

Wang dang doodle: preview Wangaratta Jazz Fest and more treasures unearthed by Oxford American

Festival time again, and we salivated over acts coming up end of next week at Wang – international jazzers are headlined by the likes of ubersinger Kurt Elling and master sax symbol Oliver Lake. The blues stage will jump with our own Fiona Boyes back for a blues revue with Debbie Davies, plus Backsliders, master picker Nick Charles and a host of others: 29 October – 1 November.

And so to the Oxford American’s 10th anniversary of its music edition, with one CD of future masters, one of masters previously featured.
